The Collections

Three collections in one place.

Corpus Christi Information Centre.

The Corpus Christi Festival in Villa de Mazo, declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, is a celebration of great significance and tradition on the island of La Palma. This event is distinguished by its spectacular ‘arches’, structures made from a base of iron and wood, which are meticulously covered with plant materials such as flowers, leaves and branches.

It displays all manner of reproductions, documents, illustrations and photographs relating to this festival, which is so deeply rooted in the culture of Villa de Mazo. Of particular note is the installation of arches, carpets and walkways in its main streets, highlighting the artisanal character of Mazo.

Using natural materials, a rich array of colours is displayed in various artistic forms, with the aim of creating a simple act of offering as the Blessed Sacrament passes by. It is the only museum in the country dedicated to the Corpus Christi Festival.
